Serena Williams grabs her second title in Cincinnati, the 69th of her immense career.
In the final against Simona Halep the American no.1 had to cope with her “typical” slow start after dropping her serve in the very first game to recover from a 0-2 deficit and win the opener 6-3. In the second set Serena broke Simona in the 3rd game (2-1) to concede he serve soon after (2-2). Eventually the set went straight to the breaker that Serena won at 5. Simona was as gracious as ever during the ceremony “I have to say congratulations to the champion, Serena, and I wish you good luck at the US Open. I know that you can win all four – so good luck, and be strong.” … classy!

Simona will head to New Haven for warming up for the last slam (will she really play after reaching 2 important finals back to back?).
