Too easy for Kei Nishikori against Rafael Nadal in Montreal.
The Japanese got a fast 6-2 4-1 lead (2 breaks up) to struggle jus at the very end of the match when Rafa managed to get 1 break back. Eventually Kei won 6-2 6-4 in 82 minutes. Match Stats.
Nishikori: I was close in Madrid
Kei was closed 1 year ago to beat Nadal in the final (he got injured during that match to retire in the decider) and he really wanted this “I was close in Madrid, but today I was dominating everything. I definitely needed to change some of my tactics when playing against Rafa. I had to play 100 per cent to beat him.”
