There is something running in the Kyrgios’ family that is not quite right: getting headlines no matter what.
Nick came out with his latest bravado after an incredible sledge in his match in Montreal against Wawrinka saying “Kokkinakis banged your girlfriend,”.
Probably the brother was a bit “jealous” for Nick’s “augmented” fame after the latest controversy and he also wanted to hit the headlines… why not? Isn’t being famous the most important thing in life?
What happened?
Christo Kyrgios was talking to a local radio station in Sydney and he started to rant against Wawrinka for the fact that Stan accused Nick of faking an injury after he beat him at Queens this year “If you’re going to come and openly … it’s not even sledging, that’s openly slandering someone after a match then I guess you can expect a bit of sledging back when you play them next,” he said.
Then the host Matty Johns responded “I understand that Christos, the difference here is he’s dragged innocent parties into it. He’s dragged young Kokkinakis into it and more to the point, Donna Vekic”
“She likes Kokk”
The worst came when Christo replied “She likes Kokk,” At that point the interview was immediately cut short and the co-host, Chris Page that commented “Sorry, we’ve just had to dump Christos. He said something pretty crook,”
The facebook rant
Not happy for this, Christo later went on facebook posting “So just did a media interview for Nick. Said Donna obviously loved the ‘kokk’ they cut my interview and said it’s the worst thing they have ever heard on air. Ah cheers.”
Then he added “The prick (Wawrinka) is lucky I wasn’t there or he would have been withdrawing from the next few tournaments.
He put his hands on Nick — grabbed him and said a whole bunch of abusive s***. I’ve studied law and that s*** is abuse bro. Lucky we aren’t pressing charges.”
Christo later removed the post.
It must be difficult being the brother of a famous guy…
