Australian tennis maverick Nick Kyrgios has recently revisited his past victories over tennis legends Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, and Roger Federer, expressing his determination to reclaim his spot among the elite on the ATP Tour after a prolonged hiatus due to injuries.

Kyrgios, who has been sidelined for over six months owing to multiple injuries, made a solitary appearance in the 2023 season, competing against Yibing Wu at the Stuttgart Open in June. Regrettably, he has announced his withdrawal from the 2024 Australian Open, revealing the news through his OnlyFans account.

“I won’t be able to compete at the 2024 Australian Open. Obviously heartbreaking, I’ve had so many amazing memories there and I just want to really get back to playing at the top of my game and doing it right. I need a little bit more time,” Kyrgios expressed his disappointment regarding his absence from the prestigious tournament.

Highlighting the challenges faced due to injuries, Kyrgios mentioned, “Obviously had a really tough year with injury. Had that knee surgery and came back a little too soon and set me back a little bit, then obviously had some wrist issues. So, this is a very disappointing time for me.”

The Australian athlete emphasized his commitment to return only when fully recovered. He recently took to Instagram, posting a video showcasing his past victories against tennis titans Djokovic, Nadal, and Federer, expressing his aspiration to reach similar heights upon his return to the Tour.

“Y’all don’t wanna see the healthy return,” Kyrgios captioned the story, outlining his determination to return to the sport at full strength.

In a post with his manager Daniel Horsfall, Kyrgios reaffirmed his intention to stage a remarkable comeback, stating, “We will be back at the top.”

Notably, Kyrgios boasts a unique record of defeating the “Big 3” in his initial encounters against them. His victories included stunning Nadal at Wimbledon in 2014, defeating Federer at the 2015 Madrid Open, and clinching two wins against Djokovic in 2017.

Despite these victories, Kyrgios faced setbacks, notably Djokovic’s win at the 2022 Wimbledon Championships final. However, the Australian remains resolute in his quest for a triumphant return to the tennis circuit.

Kyrgios’s unwavering determination and past accomplishments against tennis icons signal his strong intent to re-emerge as a force to be reckoned with upon his anticipated return to competitive tennis.
