Stefanos Tsitsipas claimed that he is putting in a lot of effort to defeat Novak Djokovic and other elite players who are favourites to win the Grand Slams in the 2024 season.

In August, Tsitsipas turned 25, yet he has never experienced Grand Slam success. Though he had lost to the Serb in January of this year, the Greek hopes to make things right in the new year and is prepared to begin the year with a victory in Australia.

To achieve his maiden Grand Slam and climb the rankings, the 25-year-old wants to defeat Djokovic as well as players like Daniil Medvedev and Carlos Alcaraz.

Tsitsipas discussed his thoughts in a recent interview and said: “Right now, we have a lot of great players on the tour playing a lot of great tennis. That is probably the most challenging period of my tennis career so far—finding ways to beat those guys, to find ways to pass them in the rankings.”

He added: “Maybe also show our real potential; finally, once, all I’m asking is just once. I hope we can just find a way to get there and start owning our zone.”
