Boris Becker has taken a harsh stance against Nick Kyrgios after the Australian star recently criticized tennis greats from the past, including himself.

Becker suggested that Kyrgios should talk about a range of subjects other than tennis on social media, possibly indicating that Kyrgios lacks authority on the subject due to his lack of Grand Slam wins.

Kyrgios recently said in an interview: “The game was slow back then. I watched Boris Becker, and I am not saying they were not good in their time, but to say they would be just as good is absurd. A big serve back then was like 197 to 200 km per hour—about 122mph. People like me serve 220 consistently to corners. It’s a whole different ball game.”

Kyrgios further said: “I’m not saying they wouldn’t have found their way. But serve and volley—to do it all the time now, you need to be serving 220—because if you serve anything less than 220, bro, Djokovic eats you alive. He eats you alive. Bro, Lleyton Hewitt destroyed Sampras one year at the US Open. That was the prototype of someone who could return service. He made Sampras look like sh*t. And what would Djokovic do to someone like Sampras? It would be a clean-up. If Hewitt was doing it, Djokovic would destroy him. He would eat him alive.”

In a post on X quoting a tweet sharing Kyrgios’ most recent comments, Becker wrote: “Nick makes a lot of noise about tennis lately!? Why does he speak about a sport he hates? Fact-check: Nick has never won a major championship as a player or coach (yes, doubles), so where is any credibility coming from? Trying to compare generations, Rod Laver vs. Roger Federer, Bjorn Borg vs. Rafael Nadal, Sampras vs. Djokovic!?!”

Becker added: “I am not even going to mention John McEnroe, Jimmy Connors, Ivan Lendl, Andre Agassi, Jim Courier, Stefan Edberg, Mats Wilander, Gustavo Kuerten, Sergi Bruguera, Pat Rafter, Lleyton Hewitt, and many more. Speak to your @OnlyFans about many things but tennis.”
