Chris Evert, a tennis legend and cancer survivor, recently broke some bad news to her fans. Her life has become difficult once more due to the long run of her cancer. However, she has a friend who helped her survive the last time, just like she did. And it’s none other than the cancer survivor herself, Martina Navratilova.
Evert and Navratilova have long been rivals on the tennis court. But when cancer struck them both at the same time, they turned to one another for support and friendship as they worked through the darkest moments together. And now that Evert is struggling once more, Navratilova is there to support her once more.
Evert’s cancer has returned just 11 months after she declared herself free of the disease. The eighteen-time Grand Slam champion’s ovarian cancer has returned, and chemotherapy is required to combat it. But as with the previous time, she has her friend Martina Navratilova’s complete backing this time around.
Evert thanked Navratilova in a tweet on her official account for always being there for her. She shared a picture of the two of them, pointing to the food that seemed to have been prepared for her by Navratilova.
Evert wrote: “We’re in this together. Thanks for the delicious food.”
