Tennis fans have expressed interest in Novak Djokovic’s intention to have dinner with his bitter rivals, Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal.
Djokovic talked about how difficult it is to become friends with Federer and Nadal because of their intense rivalry on the tennis court in a recent interview with 60 Minutes. He clarified that they were unable to share any intimate details of their lives due to their competitive dynamic.
Djokovic expressed his remarks and said: “I would like to have dinner with Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal. I would like to. We didn’t get along so well throughout our careers off the court. And we are not friends because, you know, we’re rivals, and it’s difficult as competitors to be very close and kind of share and give insights to you, to your life, or to how you feel because, you know, it could be used against you.”
But the Serb emphasized how much they respected one another and said he hoped they would one day get back together to talk about their professional lives.
He added: “But we have shared the stage for many years. And I think the greatest respect is always there for them, at least from my side. So yeah, I hope that one day, when the curtains are slightly more closed, we can sit down and reflect. It would be amazing.”
