In a recent interview, Marco Panichi, Novak Djokovic’s physical trainer, showered the Serb with praise, applauding his athletic ability and determination.

Panichi acknowledged Djokovic as a genetic phenomenon, highlighting his remarkable ability to perform all tasks with ease and reliability. The 24-time Grand Slam champion’s genetic gift, according to the physical trainer, also enables him to perform feats that others are just not able to.

Since Djokovic knows better how far he can push his body, Panichi’s role is simply to give him the tools he needs to continue developing.

Panichi expressed his remarks during a conversation and said: “There is more than one reason, but any consideration must start with the fact that Nole is genetically a phenomenon. He is someone capable of doing everything with simplicity and consistency, but also capable of doing things that others are prevented from doing.”

He added: “You can’t always copy him. He knows how far he can go and, therefore, has the experience necessary to understand what her body is telling him. We support him by giving him the weapons to continue developing these innate capabilities.”

Novak Djokovic had an incredible year in 2023, winning seven titles total—three Grand Slams, two Masters 1000 titles, and the ATP Finals. In addition, he concluded the year as the world No. 1 and is presently holding the top spot in the ATP rankings for the 402nd week.
