Nick Kyrgios claimed in a dream that he is supporting Ben Shelton to win a Grand Slam, in addition to hinting that the young American reminds him of himself. Shelton made his ATP Tour debut in 2022 after jumping up the rankings by almost 500 spots to finish the year at No. 97.
He maintained that form into the 2023 season, making it to the US Open’s first-ever Grand Slam semifinal before falling to Novak Djokovic. He raised the ATP 500 Japan Open trophy in October to win his first singles victory, which pushed him to a new career high of No. 15.
Shelton has a strong serve, which he demonstrated at the US Open. He also has a good forehand and backhand. Shelton is expected to have a successful career, but Kyrgios’s intuition has told him that Shelton will win a Grand Slam.
He wrote on the social media platform X: “I had a dream last night that Shelton won a slam. Is 2024 the year? Come to think of it, the game is huge, and the serve is a rocket. It reminds me of…”
No doubt, Kyrgios was implying that Shelton reminds him of himself because the Australian is similarly gifted with a rocket serve, which has enabled him to advance to a Grand Slam final after finishing second to Djokovic at Wimbledon in 2022.
Kyrgios has had a terrible season due to his struggles with injuries, and as a result, he has fallen out of the ATP Rankings with no clear return date.
I had a dream last night that Shelton won a slam…. Is 2024 the year? Come to think of it, game is huge, serve is a rocket…. Reminds me of….
