With an estimated $22.7 million in prize money and endorsements in 2023, Coco Gauff overtook Iga swiatek and Eileen Gu. The 19-year-old won her first Grand Slam at the U.S. Open, which resulted in large bonuses from sponsors Head and New Balance.

Serena Williams, Maria Sharapova, and Naomi Osaka are the three tennis players who have held the title of highest-paid female athlete for the past 20 years. Williams, however, announced her retirement last year, Sharapova put down her tennis racket in 2020, and Osaka took the year off after giving birth to her daughter Shai, halting a number of her big endorsement deals.

Gauff, who turned 19 in March, has spent the last five years attracting the attention of business sponsors. She already had multiyear contracts with New Balance, Barilla, the largest Italian pasta company, and Head by the time she turned fifteen. These partners remain, and this year she added Bose, UPS, and Baker Tilly, an accounting firm, as new sponsors. Another partner is Rolex. Following her victory at the Open, she promoted The Marvels movie and Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses.
