The Professional Tennis Coaches Association (PTCA) will place Juan Carlos Ferrero, the coach of Carlos Alcaraz, into its Hall of Fame. Ferrero has been instrumental in helping the 20-year-old become the world’s top player and a two-time Grand Slam champion.
The 43-year-old will be inducted into the PTCA’s International Hall of Fame alongside fellow Spanish tennis coach Luis Medeiros as a result of his achievements as Alcaraz’s coach. Along with the ESTESS Master Professional Award, they will also receive the Bob Brett Mentoring Award.
Along with Maria Sharapova, Monica Seles, Arantxa Sanchez Vicario, and Caroline Wozniacki, Sven Groeneveld, who coached Roger Federer in the past, is also being admitted into the PTCA Hall of Fame.
The ceremony of felicitation has been scheduled to occur in Seedeld, Austria on December 9, 2023.
Before taking on the role of coach for Carlos Alcaraz, Juan Carlos Ferrero enjoyed a fairly successful playing career. The French Open in 2003 was the most prestigious title the Spaniard won in his career. He also assisted Spain in winning three Davis Cups and four Masters 1000 championships. Ferrero previously held the top spot in the world rankings for eight weeks.

LWWWWWWWWW Now ranked no.2, the Spaniard played his last match on the 18th of November when he capitulated to world no.1 Novak Djokovic 6-3 6-2 in the semifinal in the Nitto ATP Finals (draw).
At the moment, during this season Alcaraz has a composed 65-12 record. Carlos clinched 6 titles in 2023 in Buenos Aires, Indian Wells, Barcelona, Madrid, London and Wimbledon. Alcaraz was the runner-up in Rio de Janeiro and Cincinnati.
