Tennis maverick Nick Kyrgios recently shared his thoughts on his career choice, affirming that he holds no regrets about pursuing tennis over basketball, despite contemplating alternate paths.

Kyrgios, sidelined since the start of the year due to arthroscopic surgery on his left knee, had a subdued tennis season. He participated in only one tournament, the Stuttgart Open, where he experienced a first-round defeat. Additionally, he missed all four Grand Slam events this year due to injury.

Taking to social media, the 28-year-old athlete engaged with fans, inviting questions for a Q&A session. When asked if he would consider a basketball career given another chance, considering his affinity for the sport, Kyrgios candidly shared his thoughts.

Acknowledging moments of contemplation about the potential happiness a basketball career might have brought him, Kyrgios reflected on the positive impact his tennis career has had on his family and inner circle. Despite pondering alternate possibilities, he emphasized having “no regrets” about his chosen path.

“Sometimes I think to myself that I should have chosen basketball… For my happiness, but then I think about what I’ve been able to do for my family and close circle and now have no regrets,” Kyrgios responded on social media, signifying the importance he places on the positive influence his tennis journey has had on those close to him.
