The much-anticipated return of Emma Raducanu to the tennis court, slated for the Macau exhibition, has been deferred as the British player strives to attain optimal playing condition. Consequently, the event, featuring a competitive lineup, will proceed sans Raducanu. Notable headliners include Taylor Fritz and Daria Kasatkina, adding depth and prestige to the tournament, scheduled to run from December 2nd to the 3rd, kicking off the exhibition calendar.
Joining Kasatkina and Fritz in the lineup are esteemed players such as Borna Coric, Tallon Griekspoor, along with local talents Zhizhen Zhang and Xinyu Wang. The event’s timing, coinciding with the season’s conclusion, underscores tennis’s ceaseless nature, with exhibitions in the Middle East following soon after, leading up to the commencement of the new season, culminating in the eagerly awaited Australian Open.
Both Fritz and Kasatkina had commendable seasons on the Tour, showcasing their prowess. However, their performances this year, though impressive, fell short compared to their previous stellar achievements. Notably, both were part of the top 8 players at the Finals in the prior year, despite not advancing beyond the group stage in Turin and Fort Worth.
