Jack Draper believes that he is still relatively unknown in Great Britain and considers that his early success with Emma Raducanu and Andy Murray’s continued presence helped to keep him a little under the radar.
Draper, who finished second in the Wimbledon boys’ singles competition in 2018, is among the most talented and promising young tennis players in Britain. The 21-year-old Draper advanced to his first-ever ATP final in Montpellier last week. Following an intense match, home favorite Adrian Mannarino defeated the British player 7-6 (6) 2-6 6-3.
Draper answered a reporter’s question about flying under the radar and said: “Yeah, it’s strange in a way, because I feel as though I’m well-known in the tennis community, but maybe less so in the UK generally. I think people will know my name, but they won’t necessarily recognize me in the street. I think because of the big names and big achievements we’ve had recently, with Andy Murray still around and Raducanu’s win at the US Open, maybe I’ve been flying under the radar a little bit more than I otherwise would have.”
He further added: “I obviously missed Wimbledon this summer as well, and a lot of people in the UK, if they aren’t big tennis fans, only watch tennis when Queen’s and Wimbledon come around.”

Andy Murray in 2023
LWLLLLWLWW Ranked world no.42, Andy played his last match on the 30th of October when he lost to world no.12 Alex De Minaur 7-6(5) 4-6 7-5 in the 1st round in Paris (draw).
This season Murray has managed to achieve an overall 31-18 match record. Andy has won 3 titles in 2023 in the Aix En Provence Challenger, the Surbiton Challenger and the Nottingham Challenger. The Brit was the finalist in Doha.

At the moment ranked no.61, Jack played his last match on the 11th of November when he surrendered to world no.22 Adrian Mannarino 7-6(6) 2-6 6-3 in the final in Sofia (draw).
Currently, during this year Draper achieved a composed 34-14 record. This year, Jack lifted the trophy in the Bergamo Challenger. Draper was the runner-up in the Orleans Challenger and Sofia.
Andy Murray and Jack Draper faced off only once. The head to head is 1-0 for Draper. When they played, Jack Draper won 7-6(6) 6-2 in the 3rd round in Indian Wells (BNP Paribas Open) on the 13th of March 2023.
