Tennis coach Andre Agassi recently joked that Novak Djokovic still has a long way to go in the Slam, though the Serbian already holds the record for the most Grand Slam victories during the Open Era.
At the 2023 US Open, Djokovic dominated easily, increasing his record to 24 titles. The only person to win as many majors in tennis history is Margaret Court. Serena Williams is ranked second in the Open Era with 23 Slams. The two 22-time Major winners, Rafael Nadal and Steffi Graf, trail the legendary American.
Over the course of his remarkable career, Agassi won eight grand slams and an Olympic gold medal, including four titles at the Australian Open.
Agassi expressed a different viewpoint on the most recent Pat McAfee show episode. He made light of the situation by joking that he would win half of Steffi Graf’s Slams in the divorce settlement and overtake Djokovic as a result. Graf and Agassi wed in 2001, and the two of them have a daughter, Jaz, and a son, Jaden.
Agassi stated on the show while laughing: “Hey, let’s be on record if Steffi Graf ever leaves me; I get half her Slams, right? Puts me at about 29 then, Novak Djokovic has a long way to go still.”
