Eugenie Bouchard, the former World No. 5 player, recently told a humorous story about her encounter with a German customs officer that included Novak Djokovic.
Bouchard is getting ready to represent Canada in the Billie Jean King Cup Finals, which will take place at the Estadio de La Cartuja in Seville, Spain. The competition is scheduled for November 7–12.
When Bouchard mentioned that she was a tennis player, a customs officer at a German airport made an amusing comment, asking if she was a professional like 24-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic.
She wrote on her official Twitter account: “At customs in Germany, when I tell the officer I’m continuing on to Spain to play a tennis tournament, he goes, ‘Oh, so you are a professional? Like Novak Djokovic?’ Yes, sir, just like that.”
