The former tennis player Martina Navratilova claims that Novak Djokovic could play for another 20 years because he looks phenomenal when he plays.
With his 24 career wins, which is more than any other player in men’s tennis, Djokovic has had another incredible year. He has won three of the four Grand Slams and three of the four majors.
Carlos Alcaraz defeated Djokovic in the Wimbledon final to win the Grand Slam title. Particularly, that one match set a unique standard, and Navratilova is hoping that as Djokovic gets older, his health will guarantee many more matchups between the two.
Navratilova expressed her remarks in a recent discussion and said: “The question is: ‘How many years does Novak have left?’ Now, it looks like he could play for another 20 years. We’ll see, but it would be better if they were closer in age to see more matches. We have become accustomed to such high standards with Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal. It’s nice to witness the clash of generations, with all the respect they have for each other.”
She added: “They are the only ones who can give their best because, in tennis, you can be the best in the world, but if you play against a bad opponent, you won’t see good points. These guys give their best, and it’s the same at the WTA. You depend on the excellence of your opponent.”
Navratilova enjoys observing the clash of generations between Djokovic and Alcaraz and values their mutual respect.
Even though Djokovic turned 36 in May, he doesn’t appear to be slowing down and is still reaching incredible heights at a time when many players have faded or retired.
