In anticipation of the 2023 WTA Finals in Cancun, Mexico, Coco Gauff is the most recent of the eight female players to arrive.
October 29 is the start of the prestigious women’s season finale, where Gauff will try to win her fifth title of 2023 to cap off an incredible season.
In the picture posted to social media by the tournament, Gauff arrived on Tuesday night accompanied by her coaching staff and home. The teenage American star had a meeting with Gustavo Santoscoy Garcia, who is the current Guadalajara WTA 1000 tournament director.
Gauff was greeted by a Mariachi band, a representation of Mexican music and culture, upon her arrival in Cancun, much like some of her fellow competitors who had already traveled in for the competition.
The winner of the US Open could not let the opportunity pass and quickly took a few photos of the guitarists before posing for pictures.
With a band of local musicians and cultural representation, Gauff received a warm welcome in Cancun.
