Ben Shelton has shown a different side of himself by acknowledging that he prefers to speak less and is not as entertaining off the court. The rising American tennis star has thrilled tennis fans with his on-court personality characteristics since making an appearance in the US Open quarterfinals this year.
During a recent video broadcast on the official YouTube channel of the ATP Tour, the 21-year-old disclosed some details about his mindset off the court, which contrasts sharply with his aggressive and vocal approach on the court.
Ben Shelton claimed he was boring and didn’t like interacting with other people. He made a joke about not having many friends, but he also mentioned how his friends thought he was a fun-loving individual who liked to socialize.
Shelton expressed his remarks and said: “I am pretty boring when I’m off the court; I don’t like to talk too much. I kind of just keep my mouth shut; I like to stay in my hotel room and be by myself. I don’t have too many friends, but, um, I like to keep them. No, uh, I think my friends would describe me as someone who likes to make jokes and keep things lighthearted. I like having fun, and just hanging out and being with people is what I enjoy the most.”
