Emma Raducanu responds angrily to those who criticize her sponsorship deals

Emma Raducanu has addressed the critics who pointed out that she signed several significant sponsorship deals that affected her professional tennis.

Raducanu Talks In An Interview About Criticism

Emma Raducanu has responded to critics who called her out for taking advantage of multiple large sponsorship deals. The British player has partnered with companies like Porsche, Dior, and British Airways since winning the US Open in 2021. Furthermore, Raducanu strongly denied that tennis was any longer her top priority.

However, some of Raducanu’s critics have asserted that the 20-year-old’s form problems since her US Open run are the result of her brand deals. This is because the player has struggled with numerous illness and injury setbacks and hasn’t been able to win as many consecutive matches.

The former world No. 10 has sent a bold message to her doubters, stating that it was totally fine to prioritize her tennis while also considering the future.

She expressed her thoughts in a recent interview: “You don’t really have to learn to deal with everything that comes your way; I think that takes time. I think in certain scenarios I’m still trying to get my bearings, but I’d say overall I’m a lot better. I just feel like it’s part of my day now, part of my life. It’s not just tennis and fitness; it’s the other commercial sides as well.”

She added: “So I think that I have a lot of bandwidth, knowledge, learning, and time. So I’m just curious about everything—every different world I can get into. But at the end of the day, tennis and training are my priorities.”

After missing the entire season due to three separate surgeries in May, Raducanu is currently preparing to return next season.

Raducanu has no concerns about the fact that she had to consider her tennis commitments in addition to the business opportunities that had come up. She explained: “And that is totally okay because you have to think ahead about your life after your career is over, and I think that a lot of the successful athletes would’ve said, ‘I wish maybe when I was younger I did think ahead a little bit.”
