Carlos Alcaraz has just announced that he will not play in the upcoming ATP500 event in Basel after struggling with a couple of injuries. Therefore Carlos Alcaraz, Holger Rune, Casper Ruud and Taylor Fritz will lead the main draw.

Carlos Alcaraz in 2023
WWWLWWWWWW At the moment ranked no.2, the Spaniard played his last match on the 11th of October when he was defeated by world no.16 Grigor Dimitrov 5-7 6-2 6-4 in the 4th round in Shanghai (draw).
Until now, during this year the Spaniard has an overall 63-9 match record. Alcaraz clinched 6 titles in 2023 in Buenos Aires, Indian Wells, Barcelona, Madrid, London and Wimbledon. Carlos reached the final in Rio de Janeiro and Cincinnati.
He is also scheduled to play in Paris (Rolex Paris Masters) after Basel. The main draw will start on the 23rd of October.
Holger Rune in 2023
WWWLLWWWLW Ranked world no.6, Holger played his last match on the 18th of October when he capitulated to world no.53 Miomir Kecmanovic 7-6(3) 6-2 in the 2nd round in Stockholm (draw).
At the moment, during this season the Dane has an overall 38-20 record. Rune clinched 1 title in Munich. The Dane was the runner-up in Monte-Carlo and Rome.
He is also scheduled to play in Paris (Rolex Paris Masters) after Basel. The main draw will start on the 23rd of October.
Carlos Alcaraz and Holger Rune squared off 3 times. Their actual record is 2-1 for Alcaraz. Before, the last time they fought against each other, Carlos Alcaraz won 7-6(3) 6-4 6-4 in the quarter in London (Wimbledon) on the 12th of July 2023.

Casper Ruud in 2023
LWLWWWWWWW Ranked world no.8, Casper played his last match on the 18th of October when he lost to world no.79 Marcos Giron 6-3 6-4 in the 2nd round in Tokyo (draw).
This season Casper has a 36-21 win-loss record. This year, Ruud won 1 tournament in Estoril. The Norwegian was the finalist at the French Open and in Bastad.
Fritz in Tokyo, ranking, and results in 2023
WWWWWWWLWW At the moment ranked no.10, Taylor has managed to achieve a composed 52-21 record in 2023. Taylor is playing at the moment in Tokyo where he managed to beat the world no.18 Cameron Norrie 6-4 6-3.
Taylor Fritz will play the world no.215 Shintaro Mochizuki in the 2nd round on Thursday at 6:00 pm on COLOSSEUM. They have never competed against each other till now in top tournaments.
The American clinched 3 titles in 2023 in Australia, Delray Beach and Atlanta.
Fritz won 7 titles in his career: 5 on hard courts and 2 on grass courts. (See the list of his titles)
