Kei Nishikori is not new to injuries. Last year the Japanese was sidelined during the “North American summer” to decide to give a shot at the US Open at the very last moment. That “shot” was a nice one as the Japanese surprised everyone after reaching the final with no much preparation.
This year Kei had to retire from Halle and Wimbledon because of a calf injury, but fortunately the Japanese is confident that this problem is a thing of the past and he definitely wants more…
Nishikori: The calf not an issue …
Kei commented “It’s not an issue at all now. I hope I can hit my peak (at the US Open).”
… and I have a shot at world no.1
Then he added “I’m already looking ahead. I’m in a position where I think I have a shot at the world No. 1 ranking, and I want to enjoy the challenge.”
Can Nishikori become world no.1?
