Novak Djokovic’s coach Goran Ivanisevic makes fun on working with him

Novak Djokovic's coach, Goran Ivanisevic, made light of the fact at a conference that he consistently made mistakes but still enjoyed his job.

Djokovic Sits With His Coach

Goran Ivanisevic has been a member of Novak Djokovic’s coaching staff since 2019 and has remained the Serb’s mentor. Despite their frequent altercations on the court, the pair is constantly working to elevate Djokovic to the status of all-time great in their respective domain.

Djokovic has had an extraordinary run of tennis success ever since he teamed up with Ivanisevic. Under the supervision of his coach, he has won tournaments including the Australian Open, French Open, and Western & Southern Open, and more.

During his speech after winning the French Open, Novak Djokovic said he tormented his staff behind closed doors, implying the two had a troubled past off the court. Even Ivanisevic acknowledged that there might be difficulties inside the team because he was frequently used as the scapegoat.

Ivanisevic joked at the Entrepreneurial Attitude conference that he was always at fault but that he still enjoyed his work. He said: “There is stress. There are five of us in the team, but it’s always my fault for everything. That’s how it goes with the coach.”

Djokovic, according to Goran Ivanisevic, is a genius, and he was fortunate to have role models like Rafa Nadal and Roger Federer to inspire him. He added: “I am happy to train a genius, the best tennis player of all time and one of the best athletes in general. Novak is one of a kind, there are not many people in the world like him, but he is a winner.”

He further remarked: “He was lucky to have people like Rafa Nadal and Roger Federer before him, so they pushed each other, but he motivated himself. When you tell him he can’t do something, he shows you that he can do it. He always tries to find a way to win, without excuses, even if he is sick or if he is injured.”
