Morgan Riddle, Taylor Fritz’s girlfriend, recently shared a memory from her early independence. During an ‘Ask Me Anything’ session on October 16, this casual yet private confession occurred.

In Tokyo, Riddle is by Fritz’s side as he prepares to compete at the 2023 Japan Open, but her story carried viewers back to Minneapolis, where she was born.

In response to a fan’s comment regarding her path to independence, Riddle described her early experiences, including grocery shopping duties in sixth grade and experiencing the city’s spirit on a bus at 13.

After digging a little more into Riddle’s reaction, it becomes clear that her experience represents the audacity of early discovery and maturity. She thought back to when her mother had given her the task of grocery shopping in exchange for money left on the counter.

Riddle wrote on her Instagram story: “When I was in 6th grade I started doing the grocery shopping – my mom would leave $ on the counter and I’d walk a mile to the co-op.”

She added: “Got my first city bus card when I was 13 and would adventure around Minneapolis; I have always been pretty independent.”
