Serena has more than double the points of world no.2 Sharapova

Serena Williams is having an astonishing year.

The world no.1 has just won her 4^th consecutive slam (yes… that’s not normal) and she now has an incredible gap over the “new” world no.2 Maria Sharapova.

After her Wimbledon triumph Serena keeps her 1^st place in the rankings with 13,161pts. The incredible stuff is that Maria Sharapova has 6,490pts (less than half Serena’s!!!)

After reaching and unexpected and inspiring final, Garbine Muguruza climbs 11 places to break in the top10 for the first time in her career (now no.9).

Agnieszka Radwanska  is also back in the top10 after reaching the semifinal at Championships (now world no.7).

After crashing in the opener, 2014 runner-up Genie Bouchard loses 14 places to be now ranked 26. We wonder if the freefall is over or there is more misery to come.
