Stefanos Tsitsipas is a winning machine as he conquered 9 matches in the last 9 days and 2 different countries.
The Greek sensation won the title in Estoril last week and in Madrid he has now reached the quarters in singles and the semifinal in doubles with Wesley Koolhof.
Tsitsipas in singles
The Greek sensation dismisses Fernando Verdasco 6-3 6-4 in just 87 minutes. The outcome was never in discussion after Stefanos grabbed a fast 4-1 lead in both sets. Tsitsipas lost his focus a bit in the second set when he was broken in the 6th game (4-2), but he didn’t lose the control of the match. The only weak part of Stefanos’ match was winning only 27% of the points on his second serve (4 of 15).
Stefanos will play Sascha Zverev for a place in the semifinal. The head to head is 1-1.
Tsitsipas in doubles
Stefanos decided to play also doubles with Wesley Koolhof to reached the semifinal after defeating the seeds no.3 Jamie Murray and Bruno Soares. They will face Tecau and Rojer for a place in the final after Stefanos plays his singles.
