Recently, Amanda Anisimova discussed the distinctive therapy she does to recover from a training injury when the WTA break is in effect.
Anisimova, who has a career-high ranking of No. 21 in the world, hasn’t played on the tour since losing in the opening round of the Madrid Open in April of this year. She revealed in August that she had enrolled at NSU Florida as a student-athlete.
In recent years, the 22-year-old has established herself on the WTA Tour. She has two WTA titles to her record and has been to the semifinals of the French Open in 2019 and the quarterfinals of the Wimbledon Championship in 2022. However, She has also dealt with health issues, which have kept her off the court for a long time.
On Monday, Anisimova uploaded a story on Instagram showing her painting a canvas, giving followers an insight into her recovery process.
She captioned her story: “I got injured training last week so back to calm Monday mornings.”
Anisimova has cited mental health and burnout issues that have affected her since the summer of 2022 as the causes of her downfall. She remarked that she needed to take a break because attending tennis competitions had become tiresome.
She wrote on her Instagram: “I’ve really been struggling with my mental health and burnout since the summer of 2022. It’s become unbearable being at tennis tournaments. At this point, my priority is my mental well-being and taking a break for some time.”
