German tennis star Alexander Zverev is gearing up for the Japan Open, set to commence on October 16. He’ll be competing against top players like Taylor Fritz and Casper Ruud in this ATP 500 tournament.
Before the tournament, Zverev took some time to explore Tokyo with his girlfriend, Sophia Thomalla. In a photo posted by Thomalla on her Instagram, the 26-year-old Zverev, known for his luscious locks, was seen wearing a black jacket. The backdrop included a hair salon among other shops.
In a light-hearted caption, Thomalla humorously suggested that Zverev could consider getting a haircut, saying, “It could be so easy [laughing emoji].”
Zverev and Thomalla have been dating since 2021. Despite an eight-year age difference, their relationship has grown stronger over the years. Thomalla has been a frequent presence in Zverev’s players’ box at ATP events, and the couple even walked the red carpet together at the German Sportsman of the Year awards in 2022.

At the moment ranked no.10, Alexander played his last match on the 6th of October when he capitulated to world no.50 Roman Safiullin 6-3 6-1 in the 2nd round in Shanghai (draw).
Currently, during this season Zverev has managed to achieve a 49-23 win-loss record. Zverev clinched 2 titles in 2023 in Hamburg and Chengdu.
He is also scheduled to play in Vienna (Erste Bank Open) on the 23rd of October and Paris (Rolex Paris Masters) on the 30th of October.
