Gael Monfils and Elina Svitolina are inseparable, and they enjoy training together.
Both are recovering from injuries as a knee injury sidelined the Ukrainian while the Frenchman was struggling with his Achilles.
In Madrid, Elina and Gael had a different outcome in their opening matches as Svitolina lost to Pauline Parmentier 6-4 7-6 (6) while Monfils reached the 3rd round after beating Andreas Seppi 6-3 6-1 and Marton Fucsovic 1-6 6-4 6-2.
Svitolina decided to stay in Madrid with her boyfriend instead of heading to Rome to get ready for the upcoming tournament that she won for the last 2 years.
