EP Pais recently conducted an interview with Naomi Osaka in which the tennis star reflected on Serena Williams’ tennis prowess. In the interview, Osaka said that she admired everything that Serena Williams has fought for on the court, that she was always a guarantee to win, which Osaka said seems very strange to her.

However, when asked if she considered herself the next Serena Williams, Osaka said that she didn’t consider herself the next Serena because Osaka believes that there will ever be a person like her. Osaka then added that she considers herself as the next Naomi. She went on to say that she would like to win as many titles as Serena but is unsure of whether she can do it. Furthermore, she said that while it was her goal, she didn’t want to put that kind of pressure on herself to win 20 Grand Slams.
Naomi Osaka then went on to say that she is enjoying her life, her game, and is working as much as possible. She doesn’t think that there are any limits and she knows that if she can do something there is always a way to succeed.
Naomi Osaka then elaborated on how she deals with off-court commitments by saying that she just focuses on playing tennis.
