Carlos Alcaraz set out on a scouting trip to the Shanghai Masters to observe Daniil Medvedev. In between his matches at the competition, the Spaniard took advantage of some occasional breaks to watch a match involving one of his biggest challengers on the tennis circuit.

Alcaraz, the Wimbledon champion, was observed in the audience during Medvedev’s unexpected loss to Sebastian Korda. The Russian star, Medvedev was upset throughout the game and shattered his racket as he was eliminated in a shocking defeat.

Medvedev made an unbelievable three double errors, showing that he was dissatisfied with his performance. The 27-year-old flopped in his seat turned away, and slammed his racket against the floor after losing the opening set following an exciting tiebreaker. The second set was easily won by Korda, who continued on to go to the round of 16.

Alcaraz saw with curiosity as Medvedev broke down in front of Korda. This season, Alcaraz has already met Medvedev three times, winning two of those contests.
