Coco Gauff, who recently won a Grand Slam and had a remarkable 16-match winning streak, has deliberately decided to withdraw from the WTA Zhengzhou Open. This implies that she will now take a break to rest in order to focus on the forthcoming WTA Finals, which are scheduled to take place in Mexico.
Gauff had originally planned to compete in the Zhengzhou Open, but she has now changed her mind and is now only focused on the popular WTA Finals, where she hopes to extend her excellent run and win more matches on the global tennis stage.
Coco Gauff had a strong run of performance. The young American was unbeaten just before playing Iga Swiatek in the Shanghai Masters semifinals. She approached Iga Swiatek in excellent condition. However, things did not work out well for her, and she had to deal with her defeat.
Coco Gauff appeared to be having trouble as her match progressed. She required a medical timeout during the second set as her right shoulder appeared in great pain. She continued to play in spite of everything and finally lost the match.
