DANGER. Murray wins, but gets injured

Andy Murray didn’t have a great day. The world no.3 defeated Andreas Seppi in the Wimbledon 3rd round, but he had to cope with an injury to his shoulder that might hamper his chances to win the tournament.

What happened?

Andy was comfortably leading 6-2 6-2 when his game went dramatically south in the 3rd set. Murray lost 6 consecutive games (from 1-all) to 6-2 6-2 1-6 0-1 leaving everybody speechless. Then the world no.3 asked for a medical time-out and that worked really well to allow Murray to get back in full strength and win the match 6-2 6-2 1-6 6-1. Match Stats.

Murray: It bothers when I serve

Andy commented “I only really feel it when I’m serving. It’s not something of major concern to me, but when you take a break it stiffens up. My serve was pretty bad after that happened. Once I had the treatment, I served much better. I served way harder. The speeds of my serve increased. [I] served much better at the end.”

Next vs. Karlovic

Andy will play boom boom Karlovic in the 4th round. Head to head is 5-0 for the Scott, but it will not be easy. Andy’s conditions will be a critical point.
