Carlos Alcaraz said that he wasn’t playing at his best and he was complaining too much after losing to Jannik Sinner in the China Open semifinals. With a 7-6(4) 6-1 victory, Sinner moved ahead 4-3 in one of the most iconic rivalries on the ATP Tour. In the first set, Alcaraz had two occasions to lead by a break and had opportunities for a double break before Sinner rallied.
Alcaraz expressed his thoughts after the loss and said: “Obviously, he also played a great level of tennis, it forced me to change my game a little bit. I couldn’t do what I always did, I tried to play deeper, but I couldn’t. I tried to play with another tactic, but it didn’t go well in that part either. This is another thing I’ll have to learn if I want to beat Jannik.”
Alcaraz was seen returning to Shanghai before leaving for his home country after losing to Sinner in the China Open semifinals.
