Super Kyrgios beats Raonic

Nick Kyrgios wins a highly entertaining match in Wimbledon against Milos Raonic.

The Canadian defeated Nick at the Championships last year (quarters) in a tight 4 setter, this time things have been different. After winning the first set (7-5), Raonic struggled to contain Kyrgios that kept on elevating his tennis as the match progressed. Eventually the Australian won 5-7 7-5 7-6(3) 6-3 after blasting 71 winners. Match Stats.

Kyrgios: I played some really good tennis

Nick commented “I feel as if physically, I’ve massive improvements. I wasn’t struggling at all. If it was to go into a fifth, I would have still felt confident. I didn’t want to lose again; I lost to him twice at Grand Slams. I thought it was a good day. I played some really, really good tennis.”

Raonic: He served really well

Milos had to face 34 aces to comment “I think he came up big in important moments. He served really well, held except for the end of the first set. I felt after that he just got a bit on top of me and played better throughout the rest of the match.”

Next vs. Gasquet

Nick will play Gasquet in the 4th round. Head to head is 2-1 for the Frenchman, but Kyrgios has already defeated Richard in Wimbledon last year after saving 9 match points 3-6 6-7 (4) 6-4 7-5 10-8. Time for another epic?
