Coco Gauff On Post Us Open Break And Ambitions

Coco Gauff, the 19-year-old tennis sensation, recently opened up about her life after clinching her first Grand Slam title at the US Open on September 9th by defeating Aryna Sabalenka in US Open final.

Following her remarkable victory and a successful North American hard court swing where she won three titles, Gauff decided to take a much-needed break from tennis, her longest ever. She mentioned,

Once I got home, it was pretty chill. I took a week off, which is the longest I’ve ever taken off from tennis. It was a little bit weird having nothing to do.” While she enjoyed celebrating with friends and family, she soon felt eager to return to the court and resume training. Gauff’s ambition remains high, as she aims to win more major titles.

She stated,

I think maybe because my eagerness and my ambition are so high, I don’t want to end at just one [Slam]. I don’t feel any different. The first couple of days I did, then once I got home, I was like, ‘OK, it’s back to normal.‘”

Gauff has now returned to competitive action in Beijing, ready to continue her journey towards further Grand Slam champion.
