At the China Open in Beijing, Carlos Alcaraz defeated Lorenzo Musetti in straight sets to advance to the quarterfinals. In a lopsided encounter, the Spanish tennis player defeated the Italian with a double 6-2 score that calls for no further comment.
Musetti defeated Alcaraz last year in Hamburg, but many things appear to have changed since then. Alcaraz advanced to the quarterfinals, where he will play Casper Ruud of Norway.
Alcaraz stated his remarks after the match and said: “I feel great, he is a tough opponent and I offered a great performance. I’m happy that from start to finish I didn’t have any highs and lows, I maintained a great level of continuity and this is what I look for in every tournament.”
After beating Musetti, Alcaraz took to his Instagram account and wrote: “Very happy with my level today against a tough opponent like @lore_musetti! We are in the quarters in Beijing! Hungry for more! @chinaopen.”

Every time Carlos plays against someone close to his age, it’s a reminder of how far ahead he is of most of his generation.
