Former World No. 1 and four-time Grand Slam champion, Naomi Osaka, recently shared her appreciation for Drake’s music, enjoying his popular album ‘Take Care.’ Osaka, who welcomed her daughter, Shai, with partner Cordae in July this year, has always been open about her passion for music, art, and various other interests on her social media.
The Japanese tennis sensation has been an avid fan of the renowned Canadian rapper and singer, Drake. She previously commended Drake’s strategic marketing skills, particularly his timing with the creation of the TikTok dance challenge “Toosie Slide,” which perfectly aligned with social media trends.
In addition to her love for music, Osaka actively supports Cordae, a versatile American artist known for his singing and songwriting talents. The couple, who began their relationship in 2019, celebrated the birth of their daughter, Shai, with Cordae sharing the joyful news during one of his concerts.
Osaka recently expressed concerns about her tennis career’s future in the context of motherhood, acknowledging disparities compared to her male counterparts. She discussed her apprehensions about balancing professional tennis with family life on the Mountaintop Conversations podcast, hosted by former sprinter Allyson Felix. Despite her concerns, Osaka confirmed her return to the tennis court at the 2024 Australian Open, determined to perform at her best as she navigates her new journey as a mother.
“Actually, there was a lot of pressure I felt for me. For me, I always had the assumption that if you have a kid, it’s basically the end of your career. I don’t really see a lot of women on the tennis tour with kids. They are usually a bit older, and it just seems like a very hard taxing on your body,” Naomi Osaka said.
