Wim Fissette, a former coach of Naomi Osaka, is now working with Qinwen Zheng, an emerging Chinese talent. Over the course of his coaching career, Fissette, one of the most well-liked coaches on the WTA Tour, has worked with a number of Grand Slam winners.
Fissette also collaborated with players such as Angelique Kerber, Victoria Azarenka, Simona Halep, Petra Kvitova, Johanna Konta, and Kim Clijsters, before parting ways with Osaka. Fissette, who has a track record of helping his players win Grand Slam events,has been working with Zheng, 20, take her game to the next level.
At the conclusion of the 2019 season, the former world No. 1 signed him as her coach, and they combined to win two Grand Slam titles. Fissette announced the termination of his partnership with Osaka on Instagram.
Fissette wrote on his Instagram account: “It has been a privilege to coach Naomi since 2019 and see her grow into the Champion she has become. She has inspired a whole new generation to fall in love with the game & to speak up for what they believe in and it’s been incredible to play a part in that journey.”
After winning the gold medal at the Asian Games, Zheng Qinwen recently claimed that Wim Fissette had ended their partnership and was returning to Naomi Osaka. Qinwen shared her thoughts about Fissette and said: “He broke the contract and it is very immoral. This is his choice and I will respect that. Even though this brings some harm to me and my family. I don’t want to talk about that person right now, don’t want to talk about him.”

Zheng Qinwen said after winning Gold Medal at the Asian Games that Wim Fissette had finished their partnership and going back to Naomi Osaka.

Currently, during this year Qinwen achieved an overall 29-17 record. The Chinese clinched 1 title in Palermo.
Naomi Osaka and Qinwen Zheng clashed against each other just once. Their actual record is 1-0 for Osaka. When they played, Naomi Osaka won 6-4 3-6 6-1 in the 1st round in San Jose (Mubadala Silicon Valley Classic) in August 2022.
