Federer. I can really win Wimbledon

Roger Federer wants his 8th Wimbledon!

The King of Grass is quite upbeat before playing the Championships and he feels he has a solid shot at it. Federer share some thoughts about the difference between last year (he reached the final at the SW19) and this year.

Federer: My game is better this year…

Roger commented “This year, I feel my game is bette. I’ve gotten used to the racket. This is not the first time I’m at Wimbledon with Stefan Edberg. The work I’ve put in with Severin, I could really aim for Wimbledon this year, whereas last year, it was all about getting back.

… last year it was about getting back…

Then he added “I feel like more I see a big picture, not so much what happened. If I do look at last year, I see more the positives than actually the heartbreaking loss. If it does something, it goes to show that I was playing well, I wasn’t playing great – and I made the final. I did end up playing a great tournament. I played some really good tennis. I didn’t expect to make the final. To be honest, I was still somewhat on the way back. But things went faster than I thought they would.”

… winning Halle gave me the confidence

Roger concluded “I’ve been playing well for a year now, and it’s been a good last week. Winning Halle has given me the extra confidence it’s going to take me to win this title.”

Federer had a good draw to play in the first round world no. 87 Damir Dzumhur.
