At the end of March, Elina Svitoina announced that she would take an indefinite break to recover for a knee injury. The good news is that apparently, this break is not as long as feared since the Ukrainian is already back to competitions in Madrid as she was spotted training at the Caja Magica.
Elina is currently ranked no.6, and last year she lost in the 2nd round in Madrid at the hands of home favorite Carla Suarez Navarro.
