Sophia Thomalla, the girlfriend of tennis player Alexander Zverev, displayed the panda-themed gift she received from him following his triumph at the 2023 Chengdu Open.
On Tuesday, September 26, Zverev, overcame Roman Safiullin in a thrilling three-set final. After winning in Hamburg earlier this year, the 26-year-old fought back from losing a set to win the match with scores of 6-7 (2) 7-6 (5), and 6-3. This is his second title of the year.
Thomalla posted a photo of Zverev kissing her on the cheek while they were holding the pandas on Instagram on Tuesday. She captioned: “A trophy for the shelf and 4 pandas for the nursery we’re already bringing home. Next stop: Beijing.”

LWWWLWWWWW Ranked world no.10, Alexander played his last match on the 26th of September when he overcame world no.41 Roman Safiullin 6-7(2) 7-6(5) 6-3 in the final in Chengdu to win his 21st career title.
This season the German owns an overall 46-21 match record. Zverev clinched 2 titles in 2023 in Hamburg and Chengdu.
He is also scheduled to play in Tokyo (Rakuten Japan Open). The main draw will start on the 16th of October.
