Great news for the tennis fans in Birmingham as Naomi Osaka confirmed her participation to the upcoming WTA even that will take place the 15 – 23 June.
Naomi made her first appearance at this event 3 years ago (2016) when she was ranked no.93. At that time, Naomi failed to qualify for the main draw after she withdrew when facing Christina Mchale. In 2017, Naomi lost in the second round to Lucia Safarova (6-2 6-4) while last year she also withdrew in the second round when she was losing 6-3 to Dalila Jakupovic.

The Japanese commented
“I’m excited to come back to Birmingham. I enjoy the challenge of playing on grass, and I’ve had some great matches and results on it, so this year should be fun. British crowds are great to play in front of so I’m looking forward to it.”
