AMAZING RECORD. Karlovic fires 45 aces

It’s difficult to say that Ivo Karlovic is not the best serve in tennis history.

The 6.11 (2.11m) Croatian blasted 45 aces against Berdych in the quarters in Halle to set an all-time record for a best of 3 match. eventually Karlovic won the match 7-5 6-7 (8) 6-3. Match Stats

Ivo will play Federer in the semifinal.

Some other records

Ivo was already “co-holding” the record before with Philippoussis (44 aces) and he was also holding the record for blasting 77 aces in a best of 5 matches, but that record was disintegrated by Isner (113 aces)  and Mahut (103) after their freak match in Wimbledon  2010 when Big Johny won 6–4, 3–6, 6–7(7–9), 7–6(7–3), 70–68.

Karlovic did hold also the record for the fastest serve (156 mph), but that record was broken by Growth in the Busan Challenger (so Ivo’s record still holds for an ATP event).

Ivo is also the player with most aces in tennis history (9,499) after Ivanisevic (10,183) and he is expected to break Goran’s record.

Karlovic is also the player that is most difficult to break in tennis history as so far he has won 91% of his service games (same as Raonic and Isner, but he has played more matches).
