STEFANOS TSITSIPAS. Reaching the ATP Finals in London is my goal

The Greek admits that his main target is not qualifying for the Next Gen Finals this year

Stefanos Tsitsipas

Stefanos Tsitsipas will lose a couple of places in the rankings from next week to become the new world n.10. However, the Greek will be ranked no.5 in the ATP Race to London and that is still a very good indicator about how successful is his 2019 until now.

The upcoming Greek has already outlined in December last year that one of his primary goals of 2019 would have been to qualify for the Finals in London and he is currently in an excellent position to achieve that.

Tsitsipas and the World Tour Finals

During a recent interview, Stefanos stressed the fact that he enjoyed playing the NextGen Finals last year (a tournament that he won), but his real target is the World Tour Finals.

Tsitsipas commented “This generation is special, they increased the level. It’s very important for us to be part of this group, but personally this year I have different goals. I played the NextGen ATP Finals in Milan last year and I loved being in Milan, but this season I would like to reach the ATP Finals in London, it’s the time to be part of the real professional tour.”

Stefanos is about to start his run in Estoril where he is seeded no.1. Winning the tournament would definitely help him to get closer to London. Still, a long way to go.
