Thanasi Kokkinakis apologized to his fans after losing to Gilles Simon at Queens Club.

The young Australian lost 6-4 6-2 and he wasn’t really impressed for his tennis to tweet. “Feel bad for the spectators tbh about that one…. yuck. Hope to redeem myself on the doubles court with Rusty”

Then he explained “I felt like I had to say something. I felt like it was one of my poorest performances in a while. That was definitely a good chance for me.

Even though I wasn’t playing great, I still found that I was having a lot of ins on his serve, a lot of 30-alls.

My forehand wasn’t on the whole match apart from the first two games. Yeah, I just wasn’t feeling confident with my shots for some reason today. I felt bad for everyone watching, really. It was a bit disappointing.”

WHY IT WAS DISRESPECTFUL

Well, in theory it was OK to apologize, but in reality one of the most disrespectful thing you can do when you lose is not giving full credit to your opponent.

“Saying sorry” means “you have beaten nobody”.

This is not nice. Time to learn…we still like Thanasi a lot!

GILLES WAS TOO GOOD… THAT’S IT!
