Andy Murray Talks In An Interview

Andy Murray has acknowledged that his up-and-down season might have gone better for sure and expressed his intention to have a solid season finale.

The 36-year-old emphasized that he recently achieved his greatest ranking following hip surgery and believes he is still going in the right direction.

Murray is competing this week at the ATP 250 tournament in Zhuhai, China, where he overcame Chinese wildcard Ye Cong Mo by 7-5 6-3 in the first round today. As he enters the Asian hard-court swing, Murray spoke ahead of the event in Zhuhai, reflecting on the highs and lows of his season thus far.

Murray expressed his thoughts in an interview and said: “Look, I would like the year to have gone better, for sure. There have been some good moments, but also some tough losses as well. It’s been up and down. I got up to my highest ranking a few weeks ago since I had the hip operation so that’s positive and shows that although it’s not as fast a trajectory as I would have liked, I’m still going in the right direction.”

He further added: “I’ve got an opportunity with these last five or six tournaments at the end of the year to have a strong finish, so that’s what I’m hoping for here.”
