Roger Federer will face Ernests Gulbis for a place in the 3rd round in Halle
Roger doesn’t particularly like playing the Latvian to have a 2-all record against him. The Swiss Maestro has always dropped at least a set in their previous encounters and the last time he was upset in 5 sets in the 4th round at the French Open.
Gulbis is also not facing a particularly good year. Ernests has a horrible 4-13 win/loss record, he lost in the opener in 10 tournaments and his rank plummeted from a top20 position to being now ranked no.86.
Federer reached the second round after beating Kohlschreiber 7-6 (8) 3-6 7-6 (5) while Gulbis defeated Stakhovsky 6-4 7-6 (3).
Roger and Ernests will play not before 5.30pm.
