Amanda Anisimova is already in Madrid where she will kick start her “European clay court season.”
Ranked no.53, the 17-year-old has already played a couple of tournaments on clay with 2 completely different outcomes. Amanda crashed out in the opening match on the green clay in Charleston at the hands of Petra Martic while she won the title in Bogota’ soon after on red clay.
Playing in Colombia was a brilliant move not only because she won her maiden title, but because the conditions are similar to Madrid as both tournaments are played in altitude.
Amanda also decided to go a bit earlier to Europe to “tame” the jetlag and be ready to start in full strengths.
Amanda has already started to get used to the Caja Magica as per this video.
